Such a film about the world's tallest mountain has never been made before, giving Disney an opportunity to make it one of their most expensive movies ever. With its release date set for next week, fans are eager to see what Disney has in store for them. The movie follows two different groups of adventurers who attempt the dangerous climb up Everest's steep slopes. One is led by legendary mountaineer Rob Hall (Jason Clarke), while the other is guided by his close friend John "Bull" Haskins (Jake Gyllenhaal). The movie has been directed by Baltasar Kormákur. It is based on the true events. The script was written by David Brocco, based off the book "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer. The majority of filming was done in Nepal, while some scenes were shot in Simi Valley, California at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, and in Los Angeles. Lakeisha Lyles was replaced by Jena Malone for shooting for 3 days due to "unforeseen circumstances". The film is scheduled to be released on September 27, 2015 in IMAX 3D.
